Los Angeles Chessed Trip
Deena Handwerker
You don't get an LA trip like ours at any other school. I really bonded with my peers and I was so moved by the Chessed organizations we visited. It was so fun to look at the dresses and wedding accessories at the Hachnasas Kallah and when we spoke to Chai Lifeline, I just wanted to know how I could be a part of it. The Chessed organizations were inspiring and I got to have a blast with the other students at Meira the whole time, even on the drive down to LA! |
Rose of sharon
This year in Meira Acadmey we have the opportunity to partner with an amazing organization - Rose of Sharon. Throughout the year, centering around Jewish holidays, the students at Meira prepare related packages for the residents at our neighbors, Moldaw Residences. Each package is accompanied with a rose and delivered to the residents by the Meira students. This is a beautiful program where the students can connect and engage with those older and wiser while brightening someones day.

Montara Shabbaton
Keren Margolin and Hazel Kirsch
This year we had an amazing shabbaton at a beautiful scenic Montara lighthouse hostel. We ate delicious food, got all dressed up, and had the privilege of davening in front of the magnificent Half Moon Bay. We spent quality time with one another, as well as participating in many meaningful activities, such as shiurim and a fun game night on Motzei Shabbos. Overall we had a blast, and I'm sure we'll remember the trip for years to come. |
Mishmeres
The Mishmeres Program run by the Chofetz Chaim Heritage foundation is geared to give high school girls tools to follow Torah guidelines of Shmiras Halashon and bein adam lechavero. Every year there are two Mishmeres heads chosen to guide their classmates in improving their Shmiras Halashon through monthly activities, hand outs, projects and different methods of nightly learning.
